Punkie Whitely and Nancy Wiehagen represented the FC Service League at the Fly into the Forties Gala Ball Saturday night. The ball, hosted by Pat Stryker, was to recognize organizations and indivdiuals who contribute $10,000 or more to non-profits in Larimer County.
Fort Collins Service League was founded in 1974 and works to support Foothills Gateway, Inc. In 1980 we hosted the first annual Kitchen Kaper Home Tour to raise funds for Foothills Gateway. The event has grown each year and is now one of the mainstays of Fort Collins. Since our inception we have donated over $900,000.00 to Foothills Gateway.
Foothills Gateway provides services to over 1300 clients and currently has a waiting list of 300. The funds they receive from mill levies, state, county, and federal funds are used to maintain and improve services they provide for their clients. Funds raised by Fort Collins Service League through the Kitchen Kaper supplement local and state funds, enabling Foothills Gateway to meet the special needs of consumers and their families that fall outside the bounds of other funding sources.
Foothills Gateway, Inc. has as its mission the coordination and provision of services to people with developmental disabilities throughout Larimer County. The facility serves it clients by helping them develop the necessary skills and training to become participating and contributing member of our communities. Through job placement training, residential supervision, early intervention, family support, and case management services, Foothills Gateway assists these individuals to enjoy a higher quality of life.
